With the unprecedented mental health legacy of a global pandemic, more staff will need to access help and support in workplaces where is it safe to do so and having open conversations about mental health and well-being is actively encouraged. In the UK 1 in 6 workers experience mental health problems, and each year poor mental health costs the UK economy between £74-£99 billion. We learnt by working with 3,000 employers from all sectors who pledged to take action with Time to Change. Authentic senior leadership is needed, well-equipped managers, accessible support and an open culture where staff with lived experience can openly share this and lead change - all elements reflected in the Thriving at Work core standards.
